The phone call came in a week before the shoot,  Atlanta Water Ski Show Team  was called to provide boats, equipment, skis, the largest ski boots available for Rodman, life jackets, safety personnel, etc. and then to locate a backup ski site when the first site became unavailable.
 

There are several sites around Atlanta, but I contacted George Obser, with Lake Francis that  Water Ski Atlanta Club uses to practice on and hold tournaments. George agreed to the lake being used, and then the commercial was moving forward again. http://www.waterskiatlanta.com 

  Ski Day

The first stunt man hired learned to ski that morning, and prepared to jump only later when the camera's would be ready. Then Dennis Rodman came in a little after noon, suited up and skied on jumpers, he did some approaches for the ramp. Dennis Rodman did not have a problem skiing, on one approach we thought he was going to take the ramp, but turned back, just missing the corner. 

Next, the first stunt man got back on the water to ski and to jump the ramp, but somehow never got up on the skis again with 5 attempts.  If he would have jumped, it would have been the first time I have ever heard of someone learning to ski and then jumping a ramp in the same day, I would give him credit for learning to ski and not taking on the ramp that day.

Now, superstar skier, John Turner, winner of National Barefoot tournaments and of National Slalom tournaments, who had never jumped, was called that weekend to be the backup stunt man, Thanks to John Turner of Florida, the show went on, John did exactly what was ask of him, he approach the ramp -- came off the top and gave a great performance with a splash down.
